Rock Gardens is created by Mr. Nek Chand single handedly by using all kinds of trash. The Rock Gardens is in Chandigarh, the Capital of the states of Punjab and Haryana.
We started from our house at around 5 AM on 2-December-2018 to catch our Air Vistara flight from Bangalore at around 7 AM. The flight was on time and we reached Delhi by about 9:30 AM. We had a nearly 4 hours stop over at Delhi before we boarded the Air Vistara flight to Chandigarh. We reached Chandigarh at around 2:30 PM. We took a Uber Taxi to reach Taj Chandigarh by around 3:45 PM.
We checked into Taj Chandigarh. We booked a car for 4 hours to go around Chandigarh. We started at around 4:00 PM in the provided Innova. We were at the Rock Gardens by around 4:20 PM. We entered Rock Gardens by around 4:30 PM.
Rock Gardens is open till 6:30 PM in the evening. However, entrance to Rock Gardens is closed by 5:00 PM.
We bought tickets for Rs. 30 each. The cost of tickets for entry to Rock Gardens for foreigners is different from that applicable for the Indians.
There is single route one needs to follows from the entrance to the exit. We walked through the entire length, enjoying every moment. It took us about 2 hours to traverse the entire Rock Garden. However, we were walking fairly briskly as we were wary that the Rock Gardens would close by 6:30 PM.
From Rock Gardens, we went to Sukhna Lake. Sukhna Lake is a huge Lake. However, it was quite dark by the time we reached there. We could see a lots of boats on the shore. There was a huge crowd at Sukhna Lake. We had some snacks there.
On the way to the Sukhna Lake, we passed by the residences of the Chief Minister of Punjab and the Chief Minister of Haryana.
From Sukhna Lake, we went for dinner to Pal Dhaba. This is a famous eating joint in Chandigarh. Inside the restaurant, we could see photographs of many celebrities who had visited there.
After dinner, we returned to Taj Chandigarh.
