Nagpur is also known as the Orange City in India. There is a geo-tagging for this city as it is famous for its Oranges – Nagpur Oranges.

National Institute of Indian Patent Management (NIIPM)

I had been to Nagpur to attend the training on Patent Management at NIIPM. The course was a 5 day program. We used to attend classes between 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Then, we used to spend the evenings, going around Nagpur.

There were about 20 Scientists in our batch from ONGC (Oil and Natural Gas Corporation). And we had participants from Dr. Reddy’s Lab and a few lawyers and also some Management Students.

Most of us stayed in a hotel (I have forgotten the name) which was slightly away from the main city. The hotel, or rather the Institute, had organised a bus, which would bring us every morning to the Institute from the Hotel and again drop us at the Hotel in the evening. We took the same bus on one day and went around the city. We, of course, paid for the trip as this was not the regular mandate of the bus arrangement.

Zero Point

Very close to our Institute was the Zero Point. Zero Point is the Center-most point in India. This was established by the British. They used to measure distances around India with reference to this point.

Also, very close to our Institute was the Stoopa. This was the Stoopa where Dr. BR Ambedkar (Architect of Indian Constitution) converted from Hinduism to Buddism.

Buddha Temple

There are lots of Buddha Temples in the City. We went to a large park where there was a huge Buddha Statue.

Japanese Temple

The Japanese have spent a lot of money on the City. They have also made a huge Temple which is called the Japanese Temple.

There is a huge Lake at the edge of the City. We saw the sunset at this point.

Our Batch with the Instructors

Am basically a programmer. Have proved to myself and quite a few people over the 24+ years that I am capable of programming on most platforms using quite a few tools for most problems. However, to be viable for earning a living, have learnt a few tricks and techniques of management. Whatever management techniques I have learnt, I try and convert to simple logic flows to keep my decision process simple and transparent. While managing, have been successful in programming a few individuals and teams to meet required objectives. Though I am not creative, I have enormous potential to innovate and extend creative ideas generated and shared by others.
